Hey all!!!
Welcome to my blog. Let me start off by saying that I love Dr. Seuss, the doctor of nonsense, because of his deep insights packaged in whimsical rhymes. It's fantastic how children (and children at heart, like me) can enjoy the serious through the silly. My favorite book written by Dr. Seuss is The Lorax (my username) because of my love for land and hatred for avarice. The whisper-ma-phone is the communication device through which the Lorax tells a young boy the melancholy story about the Once-ler's greediness that leads him to use all of the Truffula Trees to make thneeds; this ultimately results in the destruction of the land... One of my goals in life is to have a complete Dr. Seuss collection. If you know a good spot to begin my purchasing, fill me in please!

Great idea for your blog. Teachers in each 'house' will be able to throw out a comment or question whenever it comes to them, whether it be during the school day, late at night, or on the weekend.
I think this will be a great way to stay on top of things with your students.
Hello, Lorax! I'm a Dr. Seuss fan myself, but teaching the younger kids my favs range from Green Eggs and Ham; One Fish, Two Fish; and Hop on Pop.
I truly believe Dr. Seuss would have had fun with the word "blog" or even "wiki," if he were alive today. Can you imagine: "All Ball: We all play ball," and then
"Dogs Blog; Dogs all write blogs!

Your idea of blending a Dr. Seuss book with your blog is a great one. One of my children just loved Dr. Seuss so he has a special place in my heart as well!! I used to find Dr. Seuss books at yard sales, and sometimes at thrift stores...we thought we just purchased an item worth a million dollars when my daughter and I would walk out of a store with a Dr. Seuss book!
